This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover’s delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel malt backbone. This is a serious beer for serious beer aficionados. Oink!

23.03.2017, 0,65l bottle shared with friends @ local tasting:
Nice slightly bubbly-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry concentrated grassy, leafs, hops, citrus peel, minerals, bark, light malts, alcohol, lawn, moss, paper, pine needles. Taste is slightly concentrated sweet grassy, leafs, weeds, minerals, sugar, bark, alcohol, pine needles, moss, hops, paper, citrus peel, sap. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough.

My bottle says Hog Heaven Imperial Red IPA, not sure why it falls under being a barley wine. But that is for better minds to figure out. The bomber delivers a caramel red body with an off-white head with some serious bubbling action. The smell, I am not sure, but maybe this where the wine thing comes in. It does lean towards a grain and wine scent. I find the taste much more appealing. I get a strong hit of hops, melon and citrus, a light sweetness and finishing with a long bitterness. Definitely the alcohol is there in the background. Different, not bad, just not something I get all excited about.

Bomber. Pours hazy orange-brown with a good-sized beige head. Rose tea, plums, cherry, and flowers in the nose. Taste is cocoa, plums and cherries, raisins, chocolate, light rose finish. Tasty! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle at home on 4th July 2016. Really enjoyed this: wife didn’t like her sample, so had to drink the whole bottle myself. Mahogany coloured brew, off-white topping. Hops rule the roost here with an alcohol presence that adds to the flavouring nicely. Semi-sweet tropical fruitiness oozes through the more bitter hops and the malty base creeps into the mouth also. A beer I would gladly have again and again.

Flaska från SB. Lättsam tropisk fruktighet. Snarare en bra DIPA än angivet Barley Wine. Medelstor maltkropp och en ganska harmlös beska. Medelmåttig och inte alls så god som förväntat.
