On tap at CBC, Covent Garden on 26th July 2020. Deep sepia with pale tan foam and scant lacing. Rich roasty malt aroma. Rich and intense coffee and bitter chocolate liquid pass. A lasting coffee roast finish with just a hint of smoke. Full bodied with an engaging texture. Utterly superb.

Bottle from SimonTomlinson via the RB EU 2019-3 trade. Black with a frothy to creamy beige head. Aroma full of roasted grains, dark chocolate and coffee. Taste bittersweet with the the roasted bitterness taking over the finish. Medium bodied, mild carbonation. Robust and flavorful. Quite traditional in style and well done.

330ml bottle from Hop Burns and Black. Pours black with a creamy medium-sized light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, cigar smoke, vanilla. Taste is light sweet, dark chocolate, toasted malt, a little smokey. Moderate bitter finish.

Bottle at the brewery. Jet black with small golden head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla, touch of dark fruitiness. Taste is roasted malt, bitter finish, bit of booze, touch of liquorice along with the expected coffee, and vanilla. Very nice!

Tap at Fermentoren, Copenhagen, Denmark. Pours black with brown foam, very fine. Aroma is coffee but most of all intense chocolate. A little vanilla. Body is average, with limited carbonation. Taste has a nice roasty bitterness. Finish is average with some more roastiness.
