Draft. Dark with a very smallhead. Some nuts and a bit of a woody smell with a bitter finsih. I suppose it would be a good session ale but I wasn’t a big fan.

Dark brown pour, light beige head.
Aroma of roasted nuts, brown sugar, and caramel with little to no hops. This is quite sweet. More nuts in the sweet finish. Almond milk aftertaste. Decent, ut quite sweet, and no hops.

Caramel malt and hay aroma. Dark chestnut brown with small tan head. Moderately sweet caramel malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body.

Lichte body. Niet mijn ding dit.

Can. Dark brown pour with a small beige head the soon recedes to a fine scum. Aroma of spicy grains, cocoa and caramel malts. The taste reminds me of wet earth, which is rather odd since I have never actually tasted wet earth. That aside I get cocoa. mild coffee, caramel and pecans. The palate is light. Finishes short and dry. Overall: not bad for a brown ale.

Can from Beer Republic. Hazy dark brown, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of chestnut, fresh cake, almond, old plum, wholemeal bread, mocha, tobacco. Taste has sweetish pear & fig, restrained with a sourish berry note in a brown-bready malt body, slightly nutty, herbal. Earthy hoppy finish offering gentle toast, tobacco & mocha. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Enjoyable but rather forgettable too.

Dark brown with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of dark malts. A touch of caramel sweetness and a rounded, not dominating hop bitterness.

Can’t believe I never logged this one. Glad I checked. Classic brown ale, possibly the overall best American version of the style, with hearty notes of cocoa, toasted nuts, and warm pumpernickel, with hints of apple, roast, and an easygoing bitterness on the back end. Great, welcoming pint.
