Wetherspoon Autumn Beer Festival 2019. Cask @ Richard Oastler, Brighouse. Copper-gold with a creamy head. It has a crisp fuller-bodied lower bitterness. Is solid but without much flavour.

One-third pint, festival cask ale, 4.5 %, at the Bright Helm. A covering white head to a clear amber body, laces well. Modest mid-sweet biscuit aromas. Bread, biscuit and grass to the taste buds. Smooth bittersweet endnotes. Pretty standard stuff. (Brighton 17.10.2019).

Third of a pint (cask) in my local Wetherspoon's on 18th Oct 2019. Clear and clean deep amber body, lacing from the off-white crown. Malty molasses in the nose, malty biscuits flavour wise. Thought this was fine.

Gyldenbrun. Lavt tett skum. Tykk lacing. Aroma av kjeks & frukt. Litt torv etter hvert. Tørr avslutning.

[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] An amber pour with a thin white head; rather soapy in the mouth with a biscuity malt body; and a fruity bitterness. Definitely not a Brown Ale.

Cask handpull at PoW. It pours clear brown with a foamy beige head. The aroma is earthy, toasty grain, brown bread, caramel, toasted nut, toffee and cereal. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, cacao nib, toasted nut, umami, tangy dark fruits, jammy, fruit cake and cola cubes with a tangy finish. Average body and fine carbonation. Comes across quite sweet and tangy. A mixed bag.
