Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 16C). Bottle 37,5 cl - Batch L14053C. AROMA: spice aromas (coriander) with citric notes (some lemon) and a mild sour and malty background. faint hop notes. APPEARANCE: gold color and clear. large and dense white head with very good retention and lacing. TASTE: slight herbaceous hop flavours with very faint spice (coriander) and slight orange-like notes. very soft malt background with a light spicy alcohol presence. high bitterness with a dry and bitter finish that remains into a long aftertaste. PALATE: light body with high carbonation. slight alcohol warming. OVERALL: a nice saison with less fruitness and acidic character on the flavour.

bottle from Bièrerie Illkirch-Graffenstaden. Hazy pale golden with a fluffy, persistant white head. Funky fruity nose. Light-bodied start, malty and slightly grainy, with fruity hints, mainly pear, some citrus fruit, and a dleicious bitter finish. Good, good, good!

375ml bottle. 2014. BBE 03/2017. L14053A. Pours cloudy deep golden with a thick, frothy lasting white head. Aroma is inviting with citrus, floral notes, saison yeast, light peppery notes. Flavor has yeast, floral notes, citrus, hops, some light banana notes towards finish. Very dry finish, Super refreshing. some tangeringe coming through in the finish later.

Keg @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury [280115]
Blonde, hazy, frothy white head
Aroma of citrus zest, soft saison yeast, lemon, apricot, fruity yeast
Taste - Sharp citrus zest, soft yeast, nice fruits, less peppery and more fruity than the standard Saison Dupont. I prefer this more.
Palate - Medium carb, medium light body, nice soft bitter, easy for the abv.
Overall - Very fresh. Quaffable. Great to see quality beer like this in Shrewsbury.

Bottle 2014. Hazy golden with very big fluffy white head. Lots of herbs, sweet malts, marmalade, tangerine, sour orange peel, light white pepper, light fresh wood, green raw vegetables. Light sweet at first going quickly into a medium bitter dry palate with long lasting bitter finish. Dry feel with full carbonation. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

375 ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold with full head. A lot going on with the aroma: honey, beeswax, citrus, melons, hops, and classic yeast. Flavors don’t carry the same weight unfortunately- a bitter variant of the standard Dupont Saison. Good - but not great.

750ml bottle pours out a hazy golden topped with a long lasting white head. Nose is citrus hops clove and a nice malty touch. Taste is as the nose with a good hop touch the typical dupont saison taste. This a is tasty one.

Limited edition of the famed Saison Dupont, dry-hopped and bottled in magnums. Loose, off-white head, hazy pale blond colour with greenish hue. Powerful and agreeable aroma of apple, hay, honey, grapefruit peel, dry sherry, floral hops, dry white wine, pear; soft fruity taste, honeyish malt sweetness, bready and yeasty with complex spicy notes, increasing in complexity in the finish thanks to a fresh, green, resinous, floral and grassy hoppiness. Truly beautiful saison, but I hadn’t expected anything else from this fantastic brewery.

Big thanks to Hrabren for letting me try some of this! Poured a misty golden body with a lasting, thick off white head. Full grainy aroma with tart grassy notes, slightly sweetish. Grainy taste, crackers, more grassy hoppiness, not that funky really. Mild bitter aftertaste. A good beer indeed, but don’t expect tons of complexity.
