THE HOLIDAYS AT TRÖEGS START WITH our inner Mad Elf momentarily taking over the brew deck. So blame “him” for this cheerful ruby red creation reminiscent of ripened cherries, raw honey and cocoa with notes of cinnamon, clove and allspice.

Tap at stags head came for 4.5% IPA but that was kicked so grabbed this big fella. Red pour small head pretty. Nose is medicinal cherries. Tastes of cherries, honey, medicine, sweet malt, candy some Christmas spice. Semi sweet non sticky. Booze is hidden. Clean palate touch too medicine on finish though.

@ Birdsall house . Pours clear , very dark amber . Small white head . Smell is sweet , unintense . Taste is bitter , herbal , sweet amber malts . Sharp , bit metallic . Very boozy for its ABV and a bit of a letdown after hearing raves over this ...

11% Bottle from a trade with GenDV138 - thanks buddy! A reddish-amber pour with a foamy beige head but not as red as I expected actually. The nose is somewhat weizen like in that I get a big banana bread & cloves, some cherry and honey as well but I think I need to let this warm up a bit. Nice fairly full bodied beer with a raspy carbonation and a hearty dose of warmth spreading down my throat to my belly. As it warms you definitely get a belgian yeast character from it with plums, spices, breadiness, cinnamon comes through, cherries, a fairly prominent booziness, banana bread. As it warms up it continues to reveal new nuances and layers. I think the booziness is a bit much I’d probably enjoy it more in the 8-9% range but I’d definitely have this again.

Actually pretty decent. More like a Belgian strong than american. Pours hazy red with good head and lacing. Soft carbonation. Light sweet finish. Some prune here and a touch of candy. Tap at Giant.

Good fruity aroma with a strong banana component. Clear red/brown color. Flavor is weighted toward sugars and alcohol, and is cloyingly sweet.

12 oz. bottle thanks to Chalumeaux, much thanks! Darker red/ maroon color with some head retention. Aroma of plums, cherry skins and light traces of cinnamon.

The flavor is a exact duplicate of the aroma. The alcohol is hidden well but provides a slight warming after the sip. A nice winter warmer.
