Pumpkin Patch Ale is made with whole pumpkins that we chop up and roast by hand. The hand roast allows us to caramelize the natural sugars exactly as we like, which when combined with a delicate balance of spices creates the signature flavor of our classic fall-themed brew. We know you’ll appreciate the effort when you taste the difference roasting real pumpkins makes.

Ingredients:
Pumpkins, 2-row, Munich, Carafa II, Crystal Wheat, Orange Peel, Cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamom, Vanilla, Ginger, Nutmeg, Sterling hops, Pacman yeast, water

Bottle: Poured a caramel color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of caramelized malt with some well-balanced notes of pumpkin, cinnamon and cloves. Taste is also a well-balanced mxi between some pumpkin notes with some cinnamon and some cloves with some caramelized malt. Body is about average with good carbonation. Really enjoyable pumpkin beer.

$11.29 Bomber Bottle, Wine Warehouse, CHO. The big orange bottle pours a clear light brown with a beige frothy head. Smells of heavy pumpkin and light spice. Taste: tangy, malty pumpkin ale with a decent amount of spice. Not enough spice, IMO. Good, but not worth the price.

On Tap at the "Yard House" in Meridian, ID Clear light orange witha thin white head but even sheets of white lacing. SOft light malty aroma with a hint of pumpkin and spice. Flavor was morelike a siomple brown ale with jsut a touch of the fall gourd. Clean and fresh, but not very interesting.

First Chatoe Rogue single orange bottle at the LCBO. Production date: Oct. 4, 2012. Pours a hazy amber colour with an off-white cap, good retention and soapy lacing. Typical good pumpkin ale scent with the spices and amber ale base. Silky, oily mouthfeel. Nicely balanced spices (cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg) with mild roasted malts and some pumpkin purée. Slightly sweet finish with maple notes. A nice companionship between farmers and fermenters. A good "Grow your own" project from Rogues. This is how a fresh pumpkin ale should be, without the fake stuff of most.
