Pumpkin Patch Ale is made with whole pumpkins that we chop up and roast by hand. The hand roast allows us to caramelize the natural sugars exactly as we like, which when combined with a delicate balance of spices creates the signature flavor of our classic fall-themed brew. 750 ml bottle into signature shaker pint glass, 2012 bottling. Pours lightly hazy reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, pumpkin, pear, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, toast, brown sugar, clove, brown bread, and herbal hops. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of malt and spices. Taste of caramel, pumpkin, toast, ginger, pear, nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, clove, brown bread, and herbal spiciness. Fair amount of spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, pumpkin, pear, toast, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, clove, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of flavors; with a nice malt/spiciness balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, slick, and foamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish, as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is a highly excellent pumpkin ale! Great balance and complexity of malt/spice flavors; and extremely smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable pumpkin beer offering.

750mL orange bottle pours clear copper with a tannish head of foam. The aroma is a pleasing earthy pumpkin note followed by a modest degree of cinnamon and nutmeg before the end of the draw brings on more smooth sweet pumpkin. The taste is fairly rich with earthy pumpkin followed by complimentary notes of cinnamon and nutmeg that are at a level where they’re letting you know they’re there but allow the pumpkin to be the main flavor player.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy copper with small frothy off white head. Medium mouthfeel with a spicy malt and cinammon and nutmeg. A good spice from Rogue.

Med mahogany color. Nutmeg, cinammon, pumpkin malty nose. Off sweet, lots of nutmeg in the mouth. Never cloying or sweet, but pumpkin beers will never be the choosen style for me.

This pumpkin ale poured a cloudy, deep amber colour with a nice, medium creamy style, tan coloured head. Scents include very little all spice, public washroom, Doritos, eggs and little pumpkin. First sip was creamy with flavours of toast, pumkin, allspice, small amount of clove flavour and a light almost orange tangerine flavour. Finish is smooth and creamy with a light pumkin flavour lingering.

750 ml orange-painted bottle. Pours hazy red with a medium beige head with decent retention that leaves a little lace. Aroma is full of pumpkin pie scents, with definite real pumpkin. Taste is sweet and savory, full of spices. Body is thinner than I was hoping. Awesome pumpkin beer, although there are better ones out there.

Overall Impression: I thought this was a really quality pumpkin beer. It has a lot of spice and a really solid flavor to it. I'd definitely put this one at or near the top of the style.

Paid $7.99 for a 750 ml bottle @ Table and Vine. Nice looking deep brown with amber highlights. The aroma is a fantastic mix of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon and caramel. The pumpkin really comes through as it warms and is very obvious that it is natural gourd. Has a lively, tingle in the mouthfeel. Mild hop to help with balance. Very nice in the style. Highly drinkable.
