Bottle shared at Merton Beer Festival, Oxon, Saturday 25th February cheers Ryan Pours black, this is a pretty hop forward Impy Stout almost straddling the divide between BIPA and Impy Stout. As Ian points out, plenty of liquorice, very nice. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle at Merton BF 2017. Black beer. Lasting tan head. Big chocolate aroma. Surprisingly good. A little liquorice. But the chocolate is good. Some dark fruits. Seriously impressive.

Pitch black, tall creamy tan head, good retention, good lacing. Aroma roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, caramel. Smooth taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, chocolate, espresso, fruity notes. Roasty sweetbitter aftertaste, dark chocolate, light spicy notes and a light fruitiness. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation, very well-balanced and rich porter.

Tap (Dois Corvos, Lisbon). Completely black colour with small, brown head and very gentle lacing. There are dark malts and coffee notes in aroma, quite intense and very nice. There are also dark malts in taste, as well notes of dry fruits, dry plumb, chocolate and coffee. Beer is full body, dense with sweetness, which glue a bit my mouth. But there is also a bit dry with small sour at the finish. Well balanced with hidden alcohol that of course warms a bit inside but in very nice way. Beer is definitely to long degustation in cool, rainy day.

almost black colour, large, dense beige head, which disappears quite quickly; aroma of chocolate, dried fruits, herbal liqueur notes and some toasted rye bread; taste is the same with syrupy sweetness; great imperial porter!

330ml bottle kindly shared by djoeye. Pitch black body, stable tan-coloured head, poor lacing. Inviting aroma of chocolate and dark grain. Well blended taste of coffee, chocolate, dried fruits, bread and ash. Lingering and smooth finish with warmth from the alcohol. Full bodied. Lovely sipper (Tasting session with Finn and djoeye, Tromsø 07.09.2016).
