A vicious display of collaboration! We are paralleled in an abstinate attempt to probe the superiority of hop flavor and aroma, unequal in our lifetime! This crystal clear IPL is a hop lover’s dream, featuring our lovely friend Ella, brought to you by our pals at Hoof Hearted Brewing and yours truly!

Much better take on the IPL style than Dayslayer. Big citric-pine hops are prevalent, but the lager-ness of the brew still comes through loud and clear, deep toasty grain notes mixing with a apple sweetness backed by a firm bitterness. Bready middle gives way to a hop-heavy finish, and the fade comes across bright yet resinous. Pine-ester nose, and the pour’s a gorgeous clear yellow-gold with ample lacing. Texture’s perky yet soft, perfect for causing trouble on a summer day. Really nice brew.

Clear golden coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of grass, light hops and a touch of cereal and some mellow sugars. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive biscuity flavour along with some light hops, a touch of sweetness from citrus and a dose of grain and flowers at the end. Aftertaste shows some hop bitterness, a very dry and herbal flavour along with some grassy and perfumey notes near the end. Overall, a decent beer, but nothing special and nothing worth searching out. I’m not sure why this is categorised in this style, as it should be a Helles/Dortmunder if anything ’special’ compared to a plain Lager. People are caught up in the label and reputation of the brewery, but this is fine to drink, just not worth paying any premium for. I sampled this pint can (sixteen ounce), purchased from Beer Run in Charlottesville, Virginia on 26-February-2017 for US$4,50 sampled at home in Washington on 16-April-2017.

Clear blond to orange beer, small creamy white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, lots and lots of tropical fruits, pineapple, orange peel, citrus, very nice. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty sourish start, citrus, quite some grapefruit. Aftertaste: bit malty, citrus, very bitter, hoppy, nice tropical fruits.

Pint can.

Can 1 pint. Pours golden with loads of visible, tiny impurities with a small white head. Nice citrusy aroma. Medium body, fairly soft on the palate, solid hop kick. Not so much fuss, just a straight up solid modern Lager. 020317

16 oz can poured. Much thanks to Pruf for the hoppy gifts. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a soap foam head. Juicy aroma of fruity hops. Flavor is bright, and juicy, quite crisp. A very sessionable IP"A", very easy to drink. Cool finish to round out this impressive lager. An almost nutty grain, straw late palate. Very nice lager here. Memorable. Delicious.
