Malty, Roasty and Deceptively Smooth. It's an easy-drinking malty Copper Ale that goes easy on the hops. Originally called the Kronik, this beer was censored by the federal label-approving agency, the BATF — they claimed the word had some sort of Marijuana reference. We slapped a “Censored” sticker on it as a joke and they accepted it. Whatever. Net contents: Ounces and ounces of Malt, Hops, Yeast and water.

A bottle from Craft Beer Base. Another solid beer from Lagunitas. I’ve never been blown away by their beers but I’ve never been dissapointed either, they make good beer. This poured a nice copper color with an off-white head. It had a spicy malt aroma. The flavor was rich & piquant with a bitter caramel finish. Good.

0.355l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a soft blurry bronze colored one with a small off-white top. The nose is almost totally absent! I'm really struggling finding anything here. Could just as easy been sniffing down a clean pestle and mortar or a clean spoon. Soft traces of berries and caramel, but really low and almost non-present. Quite average on the carbonation and light oily on the mouthfeel. More flavor, not that that's to impressive, but still. Light berries, some dry apples and some soft caramel sweetness. I's kinda old this bottle, so I suspect this has tasted something different in the past. Blend. 05.01.2012

Bottle. Pours a copper color as promised. Head dissipates rather quickly leaving very little lacing. Aroma is very faint, maybe some toffee caramel. Taste is sweet caramel malt up front. Plenty of hop bitterness saves this one for me. Pretty decent for an amber.

355 ml bottle @ The Rover courtesy of Tobbe (non-RB). Pours clear amberish golden with a small bubbly offwhite head that is rather quick to dissipate while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and slightly fruity with bread, red apples, caramel, orange peal, slightly dry grass, lemon zest, oatmeal cookies, dark grapes and hints of wood, cinnamon and compost. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and malty with bread, caramel, red apple skin, lemon zest, orange zest, grapefruit juice, pine, wood, grass and hints of banana bread. Mouthfeel is crisp, tiny round, tiny watery and light bodied. finish is tiny sweet and slightly bitter with bread, pine, grass, grapefruit rinds, red apples, lemon zest and resinous wood.

Aroma: Dusty caramel, grapefruit, bready and sweet
Taste: Dusty caramel, doughy and citrus
Solid but nothing special about it to make me come back for more.
