This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. With four hop additions during the brew process and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! It was was born at the crossroads, in a juke joint, as if Dale’s Pale Ale sold its soul to balance Deviant’s foreboding aromas of citrus, grapefruit rind and piney resins with a copper ball-of-fire color and inscrutable finish.

Thx! to Kraddel. 473 ml. can split by 2. Drank straight from the can. Huge resin hops in the nose, big raw pine, slight bitter herbs & sticky caramel. Huge raw pine & very herbal raw forest sap, raw spices, caramel malts, lots of hops here, lingering bitterness, spruce, roots, herbs,... Nice carb. Easy to drink. Lovely brew to deliver your hop fix.

Pours a clear amber body, leaves a film of a white foamy head, super light lacing, aroma is malty hoppiness, taste is bittersweet with a nice added caramel touch, dry aftertaste and finish, its pretty easy on the palate as it could be pretty good with a meal, overall, not a bad AIPA, worthy of many more pours, but nothing to really go out of my way to have again

Can at GABF 2013. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is weak spicy pepper hop. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a rich malty liqourice bitter pepper spice palate. Not bad at all.

Draught @ Fire Works, Arlington, VA. Pours slightly hazy full amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops with notes of citrus and malt. A real hoppy nuke, armed with ancillary citric bullets, causing a creamy demolition wave and resulting in a fantastic hoppigasm on the palate. Boom! Boom boom! It’s good to be in the Deviant Dale of Death!

16 fl oz can. Orangey amber colour, frothy white foam head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, pine, hop resin. Taste is malt caramel balanced with mango, grapefruit, pine, vanilla notes and earthy grassy lingering woody hop resin bitterness. Smooth mouth feel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, warming dry bitter finish. Very drinkable IPA.

Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear amber with a medium rocky white head. Aroma of pine, tropical fruit and peaches. Flavours of toffee, tinned fruit and grassy hops. Lingering hop resin and syrupy sweetness.

0.5l can from Top Hops. This is a light blurry wood - golden colored one with a nice medium sized almost khaki colored head. It smells really caramel sweet and malty with a good dash of pine, spruces, birch and resinous hops. Light hints of sweet fruits also, but it's the birchy hops that totally dominates. I'm liking this. Oh, my! It's really syrupy, and the birch really hangs in the taste also! Wood syrup with a whole lot of resinous hops. It has a good oily mouthfeel and a just below average carbonation level. A bit sweet at first, some browned nuts and lots of sweet malts, then it's really balanced out by those lovely fresh hops. It's really good this! 03.07.2013

Cask at gbbf 2013. Big resin pine needle nose. Clear orange loose persistent off white head. Flavour is sweet caramel boiled sweet with resin slight tobacco. Assertive bitterness that lingers but is clean. Reminds me of hard core IPA. Would be better on keg. Palate is sticky and thick. Soft carbonation.
