Sample from tap at ’In de Wildeman’ during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016 from cask as Pope’s Yard Wild Whisky Brett B.A 5%. looks like a pepsi-cola with a kaki head. Aroma of malts, caramel, roasted malts, some whisky and alcohol, and some brett. Taste is quite sweet, however light for a BA Whisky, straw, caramel, dark malts, low bitterness, soft whisky, a bit dry in the aftertaste, some chocolate, medium body, low co2. tasy however a bit weird...

Sampled from cask at ’In de Wildeman’ during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016. Dark brown to black with an off-white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, chocolate and lots of manure. Sweetish-malty, slightly sourish taste of caramel, chocolate, red grapes and lots of manure, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, a little tart finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. I seem to be the only one at the table who got the manure, and I tried it from two different glasses. I can’t help it, but to me it was disgusting and I could not drink it at all.

N cask at In de Wildeman. Dark caramel with a thin tan lacing. Aroma includes brett, caramel, barnyard funk and feint chocolate. Taste notes of brewed coffee up front, followed by cocoa, cherries, whiskey and coke. A very interesting beer, a bit all over the place.

Cask at In de Wildeman, without the Brett addition in the title. Dark brown colour, no head. Aroma of liquorice, laurel, tiny hint of whisky. Flavour is sweet, cloying, liquorice, dropwater, not much else. Sticky, medium bodied. not great tbh.636312 Re-rate, cask at Carnivale Brettanomyces ’16. At In de Wildeman, as Wild Whisky Brett BA. Dark brown colour, no head. Aroma of dung, manure, some burnt toast, sourness. Flavour is sour, manure, earth, roasted malts, some coffee, sludge. Doesn’t taste as bad as it sounds, but it’s far from good. 43539 = 2.4

Sampled cask @ In De Wildeman during Carnivale Brettanomyces #4. Black, mocha hued with zero head. Nose is strongly vinous, coffee, malty, puckering & thinned out, quite sour,… Taste is liquorish, cold coffee, chicory, strong vinous, lightly ashy, this is quite vinous to me, not getting any whisky, light roast, oak,… Completely flat,… Quite an interesting old style UK beer,… Very thinned out, vinous, big on coffee, liquorish, flat,… Might have benefited a bit maybe from some carbonation. (Thanks for sharing Benzai, Ceasar, tlahav,…. )
