Backlog July 2015. Pitch black body with a small, dense beige head. Aroma is on the dark and sweet side with roasted malt, caramel, molasses, dark chocolate and brown sugar. Flavor is very sweet with all the same things from aroma but seems to balance on the knife edge at the right side of sticky sweet. The alcohol and bitterness seems to be just enough to make this a nice sipper and not just another way to sweet molasses stout. Fine body and sweet, tasty aftertaste that seems to have a hint of spices as well.

500ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, thick, creamy, diminishing, slightly lacing, tan head. Chocolately and roasty, dark malty and fruity aroma, notes of dark fruit, hints of plum, black cherry, some treacle, liquorice, a cautious spicy touch of marmite, earthy nutty undertones. Taste is chocolately dark malty, slightly fruity and minimally herbal-spicy, hints of treacle, plum, blue grapes, dark berries, a cautious touch of herbal liqueur, some bready and marmite-like spiciness. Quite rich and manifold - but also bit wishy-washy, irresolute: I cannot identify a concrete idea or direction in this one.

Bottle at home. Three year old. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate truffles, coffee beans, hazel nuts, oat biscuits, rubber, oak, and ash. Roasted flavour of oak, licorice, leather, coffee and ash. Has a silky mouth feel, full-bodied and light to medium bitterness. Well-roasted and tasteful.

0,5 flaske (brygget 040215, bb. 040220), hjemme: nesten helt sort og så og si uten skum. Bare såvidt antydning til liv da jeg vippet av korken, uten at jeg kunne finne noe feil i korken eller flasketuten. Flat og uinspirerende munnfølelse. Dessertkaffe, mørk kvalitetssjokolade og ukjente, ristede nøtter. Mild bitterhet med hint av bjørnebær, dog uten at det blir søtt - en særegen og god balanse. Myk avslutning, men den er så flat at jeg må trekke ned et poeng i overall. Litt karbonering hadde skapt mer liv og nytelse. God og skuffende på samme tid.

Bottled (backlog). Black colour with a creamy beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some roasted malts, ripe fruits and mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some dark cold coffee notes, mild dark chocolate, some slight spicy burn to it along with some alcohol and ripe fruits.

Black with no head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of bittersweet dark malts. Light hints of smoke and a fair whack of chocolate too. Thick and sticky.
