How do you improve perfection? Imperialize it! That’s the mindset behind this celebration of our historical building and our surroundings. What you are about to consume can probably be described as an imperial old brown. Old tradition with a new perception. Very much like the brewery itself...

(Bottle, 0.33 l - brygget 20.02.13 - batch 926/950, at Gastropub Nordic, 20150808) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized, nearly white and it lasted long. Aroma had berries, raisins, wood and caramel. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, berries, wood, hint of tartness, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was dry, malty, boozy and bitter. An interesting mix of an oud bruind and a brown ale. Drinkability could have been better.

Thanks for sharing. Sampled draft @ Beer Tempel during Carnivale Brettanomyces #4. Black, solid tanned head. Nose is big coffee, jammy with sugary wine. Taste is coffee mixed with sour wine, malt, jam, sugar, red grape, big sweetness still left here brown sugar,… Pleasant big jammy red wine, coffee & light vinous streak. Thick body. Simple but def. does the trick.
