Olive bottle, 330 ml, purchased at L’autre œil, best before June 2012, savoured on November 30 2012; eye: amber, hazy, average effervescence, brown head that disappears completely, no lacing; nose: milk chocolate, caramel, sugar; mouth: milk chocolate, caramel, sugar, finale in chocolate with a touch of maple sap, no bitterness, quite sweet, cloying; overall: once is enough FRANÇAIS Bouteille olive, 330 ml, achetée à L’autre œil, meilleure avant juin 2012, savourée le 30 novembre 2012; œil : ambrée, voilée, effervescence moyenne, mousse brune qui disparaît complètement, pas de dentelle; nez : chocolat au lait, caramel, sucre; bouche : chocolat au lait, caramel, sucre, finale en chocolat au lait sucré avec touche de sève d’érable, corps léger, aucune amertume, très sucrée, toquante; en résumé : une fois, c’est assez

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Bier Central. Psyched to try this because this is supposed to be the very worst that Belgium has to offer beer-wise. Pours brownish amber with an off-white head. It was described as tasting & smelling like cheap Ukrainian Chocolate Bubblegum from the 1990’s which I can believe for the “chocolate” flavour on this one does remind me of some Ukranian chocolate I once had. Smell is chemical chocolate, gross, chocolate syrup, chocolate additives, fake, very cheap, old chocolate with the white stuff on it, cheap liquor it is both interesting & appalling at the same time. Taste follows same suit, cheap chocolate bubblegum blended with cheap chocolate, old, alcohol, chemical, chocolate additives, booze, syrup,… Its mesmerizing. Artificial syrupy feel. It is like ST Choklat gone horribly wrong. It is quite fascinating & hard to rate on a beer scale. I can imagine this getting huge in quite a few places in the world. People are used to far too high quality chocolate in too many places :)

Clear amber beer, irregular white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very sugary, forest fruit candy, bubble gum, lemonade, grenadine syrup, hint of pralinée, alcohol, ersatz chocolate (koetjesreep!), sweet liquor. Despite the complexity of the aroma it smells very bad. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: cough syrup or some other medicine from my youth, candied orange peel, sugary, very sweet, alcohol, can't say I taste any chocolate though... Aftertaste: alcohol, sugar, cough syrup, pretty bad. Man, I'm so happy I finally got to try this one! :p

This review was carried out in the ’Troll Keller’ Gent, Belgium: Jan 2009. The 33cl bottle was poured into a fluted vase and it wouldn’t quiet fit in. The bar was dark but the beer appeared a deep amber, an off-white head sat on top. It smelt like a chocolate orange. The taste was of milk chocolate and raspberries, which I found a bit strange at first. Fairly high carbonisation, but it couldn’t be called ’fizzy’. The aftertaste was dry, an interesting beer and a pleasant aside from the heavier beers that followed.

Bottle @ a friends place. Gift from me for his birthday. He doesn’t like me anymore... Slightly hazy dark orange / brownish color, no head. Smell is indescribable: some weird chocolat-pudding and just awful. Taste is the same. I have no words for this.

330ml Bottle (Delirium Cafe, Brussels) - Hazy copper/brown with a foamy head. Chocolate and malt in the aroma. Sweet, chocolatey, nutty and slightly roasted taste. Not too serious, but I have tasted much worse.
