Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

KØLF 120118. Black color with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. Flavor is vanilla, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, mocha. bitter finish. Lovely beer.

Caña en Cimmeria 01..03..2018. (r13 67). Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro persistente. Sabores maltosos tostados con toques de caramelos tostados y ligeros torrefactos. Buena dosis de cafés al principio, en frío, que va pasándo a cacaos y cereales según ba calentando. Cuerpo ligero a medio, líquido, no muy densa. Bastante sabor para su gradación alcohólica. Buena.

On keg at Brewdog Bristol (a while ago). Pours clear black with a tan head. Aroma: sweet roasted malts, vanilla, cacao, coffee, pralines, prunes. Taste: heavy sweet, moderate bitter, vanilla, coffee, cocoa, prunes, toffee, liquorice. Medium bodied, soft carb, sweet finish. Lovely!

Tap @ Både &, Kristiansand. Black body with a big, stable, dense, lacing beige head. Looks amazing! Strong and very nice aroma of dark malt, coffee, mocha and some vanilla. Flavor is super smooth dark malt, coffee, cocoa powder, chocolate, and well balanced bitterness. Medium sweetness in balance with dry cocoa powder. Very good balance in flavors here, and nicely balanced body with a long lasting, smooth tasty aftertaste. Very pleasant indeed.

Tap@Bishops Arms Savoy - Black pour with tan head. Sweet and roasted malty with opulent chocolate and caramel, some fudge, hoppy support, nice bourbon accents into the malty close.
