We gave our classic Hoponius Union a tropical fruit twist to create Hoponius on Holiday. This IPL combines cold lager fermentation with a West Coast IPA hop profile. A blend of classic American hops accentuates the tropical fruit flavors and lends a citrusy aroma. A refreshingly crisp finish complements the pleasant bitterness of the hops and leaves you wanting more.

16 ounce can. Honey gold pour. Firm white head leaves a stellar clinging lace. Fragrant sweet malt nose. Upfront, big spicy hops bring notes of pine, cherry, mint and lemon peel. Black pepper notes in middle. Crisp, bitter, dry finish. Quite interesting.

Can, from Malt & Mold. Pours clear golden with large foamy white head, faint malt aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter, lightly salty malt taste with piney flavor, thin body, long dry finish. Interesting brew, very clean and satisfying.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane's Beer and Wine. Appearance is lightly hazy golden yellow with nice sparkle, finger-width fizzy off-white head with poor retention and decent leggy lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, mild pepper and whiff of cannabis. Taste is grapefruit, candied cherry, late cannabis resin. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft-to-average carbonation and sweet over bitter finish. Overall, strong all around with some decent complexity. Slightly thin in the palate.

Draught at The Ave, 1/12/18.
Hazy, yellow-gold and bright. Good sized white head showing medium retention.
Smells of yellow, juicy fruits with strong pine and citrus appearing towards the end. A touch of resin builds up but stiff, honey-drenched malt helps balance pretty easily.
In the mouth it's a bit twangy and resinous but not horrendously-so, I suppose. Not all that juicy, though there are bright fruit flavors accompanying the more "hard" pine and grapefruit. Gets very malty with almost caramel-like notes and moderate bready character. Just a bit too much of everything here. Excessive.

Tall boy canned on 12/07/17. This... is... the.............. worst beer from this brewery that I have tried. It's like toothpaste mixed with pine with a side of bitterness. Artificial and light aspirin. Just a waste.
