Bottle shared by Marcus. Very dark brown pour with a good tan head. Aromas of smoke and coffee. Full bodied, but it thins as the mild carbonation leaves. Flavors of smoke over chocolate and likely coffee. Finishes nicely dry with a bit of dirty grit. It’s great.

Bottle, 5.9%. Weak malty aroma, not very smoky. Almost black colour. Unstable brown head. The flavour is nicely malty, some liquorice. The flavour is not very smoky either, but it is well-balanced.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color porter with large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of smoke malt with some roasted malt notes also noticeable. Taste is a very nice balanced mix between some smoked malt and roasted malt with some creamy lactic notes. I really enjoy the fact that smoke is indeed noticeable and quite present but not so overly as too leave no room for any other flavor. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no no apparent alcohol.

Thanks to dickinsonbeer for sharing - hazy dark brown, with a compact head - dough, chocolate, and light smoke in the aroma - some light berry sweetness - full carbonation in the mouth - very dry, with a lot of tobacco, charred wood, smoke - some dark fruit on the back end - a lot of roasty character after the char subsides - quite nice.

Bottle. It pours a really dark brown body, topped by a small, tan head. Smoked nose with hints of vanilla. Burnt and slightly roasted too. The flavor is nice, but maybe a bit one-tracked, with smoke, burnt and roasted malts. Full-bodied and dry. Lasting finish with smoke, burnt and roasted malts. A nice porter, balancing on the edge of too much, and to be honest, I like them sweeter and hoppier. (081031)
