12 oz. bottle from Bert’s Better Beer. Generic malt flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish. Unfortunately there is also a sour metallic taste throughout the sip. What’s odd is this is a fresh bottle and the second bottle I opened had the same taste and aromas. So it leads me to believe that this is produced by the hops or malt. Anyway, I wouldn’t buy this again.

Otter Creek Brewery: Pours a light copper color with a small white head. Aroma is a mild caramel malt aroma. Taste is mild caramel malt taste. German dry hops are present throughout. Crisp and refreshing, but doesn’t stand out. Oktoberfests are weird for me because sometimes the most innocuous examples are the biggest draws. With this beer, I just wanted to get it over with, and I did.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours amber with a creamy near-white head. Aroma is sort of malty mixed with buckwheat. Med body. The flavor is malty with very little hop in the balance. Detectable anyway. After a bit there is some bitter. I’d put this down as malty lawnmower beer. For those late Autumn mows when the temp is low.

Rubbery barley and blackberry nose, not pleasant. Hazy amber, thin yellow head. Nice barley malt and dried leaf flavor, blackberry finish. Cleaner tasting than it smells. Nice drinking octoberfest.

Bottle part of my oktoberfest party. Pours a pretty looking amber with small soapy looking head. taste is bitter with only slight notes of earth and malt. finishes dry and has lively carbonation but not the depth of flavor you’d want.

Overly carbonated, weak flavor from a style that should not be lacking in that department, weak alcohol content, try again lads, this one is not your best effort.

Bottle pour, Burlington Hilton. We have a decent Oktoberfest beer in the Otter Creek offering, but not one I would select again if I had other options. Warm maple syrup brown with a medium head, aroma of sweet malts. Taste is sweet, with notes of Autumn spices. Pretty smooth finish.

12 oz. bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop in Durham. Pours a hazy golden brown with a one finger head and low head retention. Toasted malts in the nose with some acrid, metallic vibes. Aroma is weak malts dominated by a tart hoppiness. And good lord, is that adobo? Medium bodied, and a poor offering from Otter Creek.
