Black with dark, creamy head. Aroma and flavour have dark, slightly burnt malts, bittersweet red fruit syrup and a dryish note of liquorice. Pleasantly warning.

Bottle from Deconinck. Cloudy black, stable, frothy, beige head. Aroma of cold coffee, wet earth, chestnut, pink grapefruit, prune, blood orange, toast, pine resin even. Taste has sweetish maltiness of prune, chestnut & unsweetened fondant, bitter coffee, earthy, hint of (sour) citrus. Earthy, piney hoppy & grapefruity finish, toast & tobacco, warming whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Bitter, hop-forward, almost hinting at BIPA.

Bottle, 0.33l. Muddy deep brown pour, no head. Extreme amount of yeast floating in the glass, not really sure if that's how's supposed to be, not much of a looker really. Thin beige ring on top, minimal lacing. Good on the nose, malty, liquory, notes of coffee, cocoa and roasted malt. Dark fruits and figs, quite nice. Full body, soft carbonation. Thick and creamy texture, chewy, very smooth mouthfeel. Roasty bitter taste with nice caramel malt sweetness in the background. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, licorice. Coffee, dark fruits, figs. Warming alcohol, subtle burn on the tongue. Sticky, mild vanilla notes. Long lasting finish, dry, roasty, lingering bitterness and alcohol burn. Tasty.

650ml bottle takeaway off tap at covid19-affected Bonny Bar in Fitzroy. Pours pure black. Toffee and molasses nose with some coffee. Oily in mouth. Lush roasted coffee and cocoa with some plum. Vanilla lingers. Not too sweet. A lovely sipper.

Tap, Lajbah. Pitch black, medium beige head, ok lasting. Medium coffee nose, slight chocolate, very mild. Hint of dry fruits. Medium coffee and roasted start. Slight vanilla with a bit of bourbon. Hints of sweetness, much more chocolate later on. Medium bitterness. Medium bodied. Dry finish. A bit too roasted for me, though not bad still.
