Tasting at Brian's
Black colour. A bit of phenol disturbs the chocolate aroma. Full bodied, sweet, chocolate, some molasses, some phenol, quite some alcohol too.
Very good.

Dark brown. Wouldn't say there's much on here. Rich and barelly sweet, just a touch of maple. On the palate, toasty, light chocolate, rich sweetness. Has a lot of chocolate, with a maple syrup note, has a nice richness. Quite tasty.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out a decadent, intense mix of bourbon barrels, light maple syrup and a touch of roast. Flavour is along the same lines, with intense bourbon barrels, lots of heat, some maple syrup, and medium roast. Boozy, but tastefully so. Complex, intense beer. Excellent.

Bottle shared at Himmeriget. Pours black. Maple, chocolate, booze, prune, dried cherry, sherry stuff, bit of fruity red wine, plenty of maple. Good body. Very nice.

Bottle shared@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - Black pour with a tan ringed head. Dark sweet malty with rich resonating prominent sticky maple sweetness, big chocolate, some caramel, full bodied, sweet dark malty maple led finish. Gorgeous stuff.

Draught @ City Hops. Opaque dark brown with very small frothy tan head which mostly looks like a ring inside the glass, sharp woodsy maple syrup-bourbon aroma, low carbonation, sweet woodsy bourbon taste over foundation of mocha, smooth body, long woodsy sweet bourbon finish with alcohol aftertaste. Quite strong but easy to drink.

22 ounce bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours dense pitch black color with a small fairly dense tan head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on he glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted oak, nuttiness, and dark bread; with light notes of coconut, raisin, plum, fig, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, and roast/oak earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and maple/bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted oak, nuttiness, and dark bread; with light notes of coconut, raisin, plum, fig, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, and roast/oak earthiness. Very mild roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted oak, nuttiness, dark bread, light smoke/dark fruit, leather, tobacco, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and maple/bourbon barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight chalky roast, oak tannins, and increasing dryness. Mildly warming 10.7%, with zero barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an amazing BBA imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and maple/bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Extremely rich malt complexity, with perfect barrel integration. Not overly roasty/charred on malts; with minimal tannic/boozy barrel notes. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example as expected.
