Bottle from the lcbo. Dark brown pour, with a medium beige head. Aroma is quite strong on the caramel side, lots of solid cereals, some light grasses. This is super malty, but it's still quite lightly bodied. Light bitterness, big malts, quite nice.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready caramel malt and toasted malt. Flavour is quite malty, with lots of caramel, followed by toasted malt and light spiciness. Not like a traditional alt, but a pleasant sweet amber ale.

Amber, hazy, touch of bubblegum on the nose, with a little caramel. Sweet, bit sticky...the fruity/phenolic notes are inappropriate. As a veteran of Uerige Sticke Day, I am kind of disappointed to see so many people thinking this is even an altbier, much less a good one. Bubblegum?

Pours a clean deep amber colour with frothy-creamy warm beige head, good retention and some thick foamy lacing. Strong aromas of darker malts, bread, caramel with some grassiness. The taste has a bitter edge to it with all that hop, over the caramel malt base and other cereal notes. Hints of pepper. Not feeling much the oakwood, but adding maybe a little to the overall sweetness. A nice Altbier at the base, with lots of hops for the style, making this a good Sticke Alt.

Bottle @ Malt & Mold tasting. Clear copper red with small frothy off-white head, faint caramel aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter caramel malt aste, thin body, long bitter finish. Felt more bitter than other altbiers.

A red copper alt with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet biscuit malt with light German hops, light mineral notes, light caramel. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light chalky notes, nice and smooth. Bottle at brewery.
