Ultra clear golden coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall pure white head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of alcohol, rice, plums, pears, grain, peat and a lightly germinatate malt flavour with some mild funk at the end and showing more than anything of the sake flavours and dry oaky/wine notes that leave this quite assertive and complex throughout. Aftertaste shows more spice and dryness than anything else, but interestingly enough, the sweetness, funk and sake flavours really come e through on this one, and leave it quite nice and definitely refreshed. Overall, I sampled this thirty-two ounce (store prodcued) bottle from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 24-September-2017 for US$7,49 sampled at home in Washington on 21-November-2017. 32 ounce, crazy bottle purchased from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 24-September-2017 for US$7,49 sampled at home in Washington on 21-November-2017. This wasn't a bad option, just quite strong and showing the sake elements which may or may not be good, depending on your preference.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Summer fruit aroma. Summer fruit and light yeast flavor with light earth. Medium bodied. Summer fruit and light yeast linger with light grain and earth.

Not as curious an experiment as the label makes it out to be. Most certainly a Lagunitas beer, offering up their telltale orange marmalade hop-n-malt profile as the most prominent flavor before adding a grainy rice bitterness to the back end. Finishes piney and dry, while the yeast inserts modest estery notes along with a little bread. Pours a clear gold with a restrained white head and moderate lacing. Nose is straight IPA citrus and pine. Good texture for a DIPA, oily and smooth with just enough sparkle and no booze present. Nice (if oversized) bottle.

Draught @ Milk and Hops - Chelsea. Slightly cloudy rich yellow with small creamy white head, earthy boiled rice aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter taste with rice flavor, smooth body, longish earthy finish, The sake yeast has made the brew taste like a saison.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Clear golden, fluffy head. Sweet grainy aroma, mild fruitiness. Taste brings some white grapes, more fruit sweetness. Seems lager-ish, but tasty AF. 9%? This can't end well....

32 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/7/2017. Pours crystal clear medium golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a small cap lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, grassy, zesty, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/clean, and grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Minimal warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is fantastic DIPA! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very vibrant, juicy, and lightly dank hops; great malt balance, with no residual sweetness. Tastes like a majority of their standard DIPAs, but much lighter in body from the rice. A highly enjoyable offering.

32 ounce bottle. Bright yellow gold color. Tight creamy white head with wall to wall lacing. Interesting citrus fruit nose. Notes of lime, pineapple, kiwi and urine. Sweet, earthy, nutty malt flavor. A bit of vanilla, citrus and carob. Obvious sake notes. Biitter spicy hops in finish. Warming alcohol notes as well. Quite unique.
