Bottle. Nice strong cherry and caramel malt aroma. Cloudy red-brown color with small head. Sweet dried cherry, raisin, and woody malt flavors with a dry strong hops finish. Very nice - well blended.

I’m not always a fan of these belgian interpretations of this style (De Glanzen Toren, for example), but this is quite nice - cloudy copper pour with lasting, substantial lace - wood and vanilla in the nose, with touches of toffee, nuts, over-ripe apples - the flavor has much of the same - a light woody character comes through first, followed by some caramelized brown sugar - caramel/toffee flavors combine with light acidity and fruity esters to create a flavor not unlike a caramel apple - slight bitterness comes out in the finish, keeping the sweetness from overstaying its welcome - not bad at all.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown excellent mostly lasting head. Heavy malty aroma. A bit sour. Good notes but dominated by a harsk metallic bitter finish. Watery palate regarding ABV. Not a pleasent beer.

This is the sweetest Scotch ale I have encountered, bar none. The clear copper pour yielded a thick tan, tight-bubbled head. The nose was full of sweet malts — caramel and sugar. But also a hint of rubber. The flavor was like liquid cotton candy — brown sugar, caramel. Hops showed up in the finish presenting a slightly bitter aftertaste. The palate was fizzy and slightly sticky. A moderately long finish.

Brown bottle; eye: brown with burgundy and orangey reflections, coffee head, fine particles are suspended, hazy, good lacing; nose : sweet (caramel and maple syrup), scotch, a bit of roasting and of wood; mouth: relatively low profile of flavors, sweet almost too much, no biterness to write about, medium to full body, creamy texture, high carbonation, long finale where maple syrup appears, filling FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune; oeil : brune avec des reflets bourgognes et orangés, mousse couleur café, fines particules en suspension, voilée, bonne dentelle; nez : sucré (caramel, sirop d’érable), scotch, légère torréfaction, légèrement boisé; bouche : profil de saveurs relativement bas, assez sucré presque trop même, pas d’amertume pour ainsi dire, corps de moyen à plein, texture crémeuse, carbonatation plus élevée que la moyenne, finale relativement longue avec apparition de sirop d’érable, bourrative
