Pours a deep, hazy brown -- almost like unfiltered cider. Sweet alcohol/fruit and caramel malt notes. Does not taste like it smells -- almost metallic at first. But the taste turns to have almost home-made apple cider notes. Fizzy. First impression was negative, but this grew on me -- not sure I’d have another, but glad I tried it.

Red copper ale with a thick off white head. Sweet lactic aroma with horsblanket notes. In mouth, burned or caramleized maple syrup with notes of crustacean shell water. Lighter bodied yet pleasing. An excentric scotch ale. Tasted 28/01/05 at Institut Scotch Ale tasting.

Chestnut colouring, low tanned head. Light roasty, fruit and herbal aroma. Fruity, spongy, a little roast. Solid mouthfeel, sparkly. Sweet aftertaste.

Bottle: Poured a deep hazy amber color ale with a super huge foamy head with excellent retention. Aroma of peaty malt with sweet caramel malt. Taste is quite rich with strong syrupy malt, caramel malts, figs dry raisins and nice subtle funky touch from the yeast. Body is definitely above average with a syrup-like body and alcohol is well hidden.

Pour is a deep brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is sugar and malts with a touch of hops. Flavor is brown sugar with a hard core metallic aftertaste. Wow this goes down hill fast. Maybe a bad bottle but if not this is not a good brew. Too sweet and metallic.

(Bottle 25 cl) Pitch black, brownish head. Typical roasted, licorice like-notes. Caramel, dried fruits - all the good, heavy solid flavours. And a strong alcohol in the finish. Potent and pleasuring. 221297

One of my wife’s favorites though we have not seen it around in quite a while. +++Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle the beer poured an opaque mahogany color with a large tan head. The aroma was sweet with strong elements of caramel and molasses and just a hint of ripe fruit. The flavor was malty and sweet with noted molasses and caramel elements. A bit of toasted roasty malt flavor on the finish. A nice Scotch Ale.
