Red Irish rising, sweet loam of the moor,
Slowly, so slowly we watch the art of the pour.
Born of the gas whose molecules dance.
Born of the flow of a dense liquid trance
Feeding the head, feeding the heart
Humble Patience is the place we start
How long is the ride? How traveled the road?
What do we bring to lighten the load?
Humble Patience is the thing
The ripe revelation that waiting will bring,
Humble Patience...
How long does it take for soon to be now?
OUR IRISH-STYLE ALE POURS SLOWLY, ITS DARK GARNET-RED COLOR CASCADING INTO A RICH, THICK, CREAMY HEAD THAT WILL MAKE YOU WEEP WITH JOY.

Bottle. Great beer. Deep amberish-cooper color. Nice head. Great floral, malt and hay aroma. Good flavor that was extremely well balanced.

Bottle, as Bob’s First Ale. Clear dark amber with small foamy off-white head, faint caramel aroma, medium carbonation, malty taste with some roastd malty/toffee flavor, smooth body, medium caramel finizh. Not bad, not great either.

Bottle (Bob’s 1st Ale). Sour milk, nutty toffee malt, and fresh hay aroma. Amber with large off-white head. Moderately sweet nutty toffee malt and mildly bitter fresh hay flavor. Okay body. A decent, straight-forward beer.

Bottle from Bert’s Crystal clear deep golden with a hint of red and a tightly bubbled off white head that dissipates slowly. Rich caramel malt and earthy spicy citrus hops to counter. Tasty beer that reminds me of the craft beer from the 90’s.

Bob’s 1st Ale. Cloudy rust colored pour with a khaki head and very good retention. Good lacing. Taste is a nice blend of caramel and toasted malts. Smooth. Simple profile and it works.

Bottle: (as Bob’s 1st Ale) Slightly hazy, copper-amber with a small beige head. Caramel, mild berry, toasted grain aroma. Taste is slightly spicy, caramel malt, toast, berry. Light....but pretty satisfying to style..... Rather tasty.

Catch up rating form notes, 2012: Bottle from my brother-in-law (this is back in the day when Magic hat was a big deal). Medium dark amber, small foamy head. Aroma is malty, slightly ashy, roasty malts. Taste is more of the malts, not sweet, but nutty and dry. Decent consistency and feel.

Toasty malts are the main player here. Brick red with a nice off-white head. Good light sweet malts, a bit of fruit, too. It drank well but was one of those beers that I forgot about during a conversation. It just didn’t hold my attention after the first few swigs. Solid.

Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC. Pours clear russet with a soft, creamy, off-white head. Pretty classic Irish Ale aroma: caramel, toasty malts, leaves. Light sweet flavor, wet leaves, dull caramel, toast, mild bitterness. Light bodied with fine, tingly carbonation. Faintly dry and sweet to finish, leafy bitterness, slight semi-dark fruits, toasty malts. Very basic beer but not offensive in any way, really.

Brownish color pour with a head that fades rapidly. Plain ol beery aroma. Friendly initial low alky malty taste makes this presentable. Decent amount of co2 on the palate. Comes across a little creamy. Yes, friendly and rather easy. I was expecting something overly malty for some reason but this is not too bad! Picking up some carob in there I think. Good overall beer experience. Probably could drink a few of these at a stiing. More like a mild ale.
