Bottled. Pretty much pitch black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head, which does disappear quite quickly. Aroma is roasted malts, ashes, coffee, chocolate, toffee and some caramel tones. Flavour is liquorice, chocolate, caramel some toffee and mild roasted elements. Rather smooth brew.

Bottle at home in Hackney - vintage 2012. Pours deep brown with a big, foamy beige head. Medium sweet flavour with soft roast, milky coffee, light bitterness. Medium bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Mild oxidation in the finish, some chocolate mousse, subtle coffee, earth. Not bad overall.

Tap @ ACBF 2012. Deep dark brown color., almost opague. Loads of fresh grinded coffee in the aroma. Milk chocolate and coffee in the malty sweet flavor. Fresh grinded coffee aftertaste. Lovely!

500ml bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown almost black with a small, short lived, tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and caramel. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, licorice and vanilla with a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. This beer has aged nicely. A very tasty porter.

Bottle from the Kernel Rotbox, consumed at Kenny’s 20K. It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The nose is toasty, bitter sweet, earthy roast, big coffee character and mild acidity. The taste is earthy, some bitterness, toasty grain, chewy malt, coffee grounds, burnt toffee and some underlying sweetness with a dry, woody finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty alright.

Pours black into an English pint. Mocha micro head with excellent retention top hats and recedes leaving gloppy sheets. Dark chocolate, espresso and soy aromas. Dark chocolate and soy upfront turning to licorice before the lasting sweet mocha finish.
