Canned 1/4/17, drunk 1/28/17.
A lightly hazy, very light, straw golden with a hint of nectarine yellow and a sizable white head showing moderately strong retention.
Strong pepper, vegetal greenery, wood and cherry in the nose with pine and grapefruit appearing as it warms more. Malts are mostly left in the background, thankfully and add only light honey and bread. It’s very fruity and fragrant, but there’s definitely some strong resin and light alcohol here that detracts severely.
In the mouth it’s nicely malty yet well-attenuated with honey and bread backing the very strong bitterness. It begins fruity, lightly tropical and quite citric but develops a strong resin character that nearly ruins the finish and lingers on. Engaging carbonation, nicely unfiltered and soft but the hops are heavily, heavily overdone for what they were (assumedly) trying for here. Despite this one not working out, the other characteristics of the beer (mouthfeel, texture, body, attenuation, carbonation) were all very nicely done, so I’d happily give these guys another try.

Draft at Milk and Hops, Chelsea. Light gold color with a white head and lots of coating lace. Fruity aroma, slight tart. Medium body.

Draught @ City Hops. Clear golden with large foamy white head, malty aroma, low carbonation, bitter malty taste, thin body, long bitter finish. The hop profile is very obscure and it’s quite bitter, did not like it much.

The Sampler, Brooklyn: pours golden with white head. Aroma is whatever fruitiness. Taste is fruity. Very low hops and also low carbonation. Uncomplex flavor. Kind of pointless. Disappointing.

Tap at Troy brewfest lighter bodied and crisp DIPA but still with alcohol potency. Tropical fruit and grapefruit on nose and tastes, some orange peel and resin. dangerous and drinkable.

A hazed blonde DIPA with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, faint sulfur, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, pink grapefruit pulp, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. On tap at Plattsburgh Brewfest 2016.
