Draught. Slightly cloudy rich golden with very small frothy head, citrus aroma, low carbonation, sweetish orange taste, smooth body, medium finish. Deliciously tasty.

650 ml bottle, purchased at Kappy’s Liquors. The sticker on the cap reads bottled 07/24/ 2015. Cloudy deep golden color with lasting head retention. Aroma is pretty tame. Light malt / sweet grain on top of pine (and maybe through the power of suggestion, grass)
Flavor is pretty balanced. Malt gives a sweetness that (thankfully) is not caramel which is balanced by the pine. Medium in body with crisp dry pine texture. You could say this is a "one trick pony" and you would be correct with that statement but this one trick is played out pretty well. I found this nicely drinkable.

7/25/15 bottling date, drunk 8/16/15.
Another good appearance from BMJ, good clarity and a solid white head showing moderate retention atop a golden body.
Very straightforward simcoe in the nose seems to lack the more complex, enjoyable notes I usually associate with it (pineapple, mango, cherry, ruby red grapefruit) and instead is mostly pine, albeit not resinous, acidic, harsh pine. Malt is lightly sweet and full of honey and bread dough. Alcohol not noticeable.
Sadly, the flavor is flat, dull and just seems like overly boiled, quite bitter white grapefruit and pine. Vegetal and off-putting, I almost sent it down the drain but decided to instead let it sit and warm up and breath. Which actually helped a bit, I guess. The sugar came out more, but I think it only really masked some of the vegetal, stew-like notes, and the bitterness grew as well (both obvious things). Eh, really disappointed after the success of Happiness is a Warm Pun, but we’ll write this one off and try the Simcoe hop series next.
