Bottle, 10th Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. Near black pour with a little tan cap. Aroma is light chocolate, roast, nutty. Comes together like a mocha in the taste; a little vanilla and hazelnut. Smooth and silky feel.

On tap at Rbabarrab. Pitchblack pour with a fine tan head. Notes of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, light vanilla, cocoa. Full body, soft carbonation chocolate bitter-sweet finish. Definitely chocolatey, but no sign of hazelnuts in there.

On tap @ Rbabarrab. Looks flawless this. Near jet black in the glass with a medium to big creamy espresso dark lacing head. Nothing to say on the looks. The aromas is giving me fears that this could be a cloying piece of beer. Really sweet. Marzipan and marshmallows. Both sweet and slightly bitter chocolate. Nugatti Crisp and a good roasty darkness that's binding all this together. There's a bit of alcohol also on the noise. I like it. What a delicious mouthfeel. Like drinking a cloud. The taste however is a little like I suspected. Unfortunately. On the verge of cloying. It's it though but almost. Loaded with nice dark chocolate. I can live with this kind of sweetness in a 15%+ beer. This shouldn't have it though. Roasty, lots of molasses and it's quite on the warming side this. Licorice and booze in the tail. I like it by all means, but this is one of those whom could preferably have been stored away for a few yeast before it got the pleasure of feeling the inside of a tap line. 10.05.2017

Tasting glass draft @ Beerlovers Bar. Your classical black with very deep mocha head. Nose is overly big on soy sauce, umami, herbal licorice, hazelnut oil that is too much and comes across as artificial, vanilla is lost,... Soy sauce totally dominates the body, vanillin & not vanilla like notes with same hazelnut oil, umami, so much soy sauce,... Thick soy sauce body,... Feels like soy sauce with vanillin & hazelnut oil,... Didn’t like it.
