Drought. Dark amber-brown with spongy beige head, caramrl aroma, slightly flat molasses taste, medium carbonation, medium unremarkable finish. Leaves a bit of a metallic taste on your palate.

It poured a nice one inch light colored head on top of a hazeless copper colored body. The smell has some malts, light winter spices such as nutmeg, allspice and clove and has some really subtle light chocolates tones underneath. The hops are mostly non-existent in the smell. The taste is sweet between the previously mentioned flavors with the hops coming out very slightly to balance it a bit. The palate is smooth and clean with a light to medium sort of feel. It has a crisp bittter finish. Overall, this is an interesting take on an English IPA, but I like it for the most part.

Definitely an English style ipa, solid malt foundation with enough hop aroma and flavor to balance it, but not the hopbomb that we have come to expect from an ipa.

Draught at Rattle ’N’ Hum, as part of a flight of beers, on January 30, 2012Clear dark copper color, off-white head. Sweet, nutty, hair product, brown sirup taste. Nutty aftertaste. Moussy mouthfeel, medium dry bitterness. Sweet, nutty scent.

Location: Draft at RnH, 2/19/11
Aroma: Oddly, this one smells just like a Werther's Original, no other way to describe it
Appearance: The pour is kind of a bronze color with an off-white head
Flavor: The taste is basically metallic flavors plus butterscotch candy
Palate: The body is overly carbonated and it has a lasting metallic finish to it
Overall Impression: This is one weird beer. Honestly, it's a kinda on the sucky side. I can't get over the fact that it's pretty much just like a Werther's Original with metal. Beer shouldn't taste like that. It's too weird!

Toffee nose with traces of cinnamon. Clear golden, thin white head. The flavor is bready, spicy, and dry. Nutmeg is everywhere from beginning to end, a clever interplay of British hops. Wanting in sweetness, perfumey, and tinny at times.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a golden color with a 2-finger head, nice head retention and lacing. Slightly grainy aroma with some citrus and hop notes. Taste is citrus and fruity hops. Medium bodied.

Pours gold into a shaker. Head quickly recedes to nothing. Cracker and malt aromas. Dry with heavy malts. Very limited hops in the finish. I like the dryness of the Gearys ales but I would not call this an IPA. Maybe a pale ale.

My friend Matt brought this one to me from a trip to Maine. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with a small white head. The aroma was sour and tangy with not much good going on. The flavor was bitter, tart and a bit tangy. Not good at all. I was surprised to see it listed as an IPA as there was not real hop presence.

Clear amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet floral hops aroma with a bit of caramel. Sweet floral hops flavor, some caramel and a touch of vanilla.
