Bottle courtesy of Northyorksammy: Poured a light orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with limited retention. Aroma of sweet malt and light hops is mostly boring. Taste is a mix between some sweet malt and light English hops. Body is a bout average with some average carbonation. I was quite surprise that this is being classified as an IPA and could not have guess by drinking this beer.

Poured a gold color with faint orange/red hues. The white head left a great lace pattern on the glass. Aroma is soapy and only slightly citrus. The flavor was nice, malty but with a nice earthy touch. Not too bitter or astringent. Slightly watery at the end. I prefer other IPAs but this was drinkable.

An hazy orange amber ale with a thin white head. Lightly sprucey hops with light alcohol notes. In mouth, a dry IPA , not sweet, with very herbal hops, with the alcohol coming after, like drinking gin. Astringent. A tad unpleasant.

An orange beer with an extremely fast disappearing bubbly head. The aroma is sweet caramelic, and light notes of alcohol and hops, but also with a slight sour note - a little like sweaty feet. The flavor is sweet alcohol with powerful hop notes.

Clear amber/copper coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of light malt with very little else, no spices nor malt detectable. Light to Medium-bodied; Small toffee and caramel flavours but no hops nor malt detected at all. Aftertaste shows just the same, no spices, hardly any malt and a few bits of caramalised sugars. Overall, not an IPA whatsoever and hardly a good beer. I was less than impressed with this one. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia today on 31-December-2004 - Happy New Year!

Very clear, golden, no head... well little head. Smells floral and herby. Taste... well, starts out very think and light, middle is deep full-flavored maltiness (but not malty like some IPAs), and finished peppery. Doesn’t seem like an IPA to me at all... unless I read the description here, I would not have guessed it’s style as an IPA. Anyway, a decent brew, but not spectacular.

Darkish amber, medium foamy head. Aroma orangey, earthy, light pepper/oregano. Earthy and caramelized aroma. Thickly sweet finish with herbal overtones. A bit candyish. Curiously clean fermentation profile, making this a bit one-dimensional in its caramelly sweetness. I'd like to see some fruitiness here, in the absence of any particular hop presence.

Hard to believe this is an IPA. I would say English Strong Ale. Anyways, pours a mostly clear reddish-brown with a huge white head. Big yeasty smell, slightly spicy, with some soft fruit flavors as well. Medium bodied, low carbonation, moderately sweet, subtle, soft hops. Yeast flavors are great, cherries and apricots? Malt is just right, not too dry, not too sweet. No hint of alcohol. Not terribly complex, as is usual for this brewery, but just wonderfully even.

Bronze colour. Aroma is raspberry, butter, earthy hops – holy Ringwood! Candyish flavour. Sweet and fruity. Astringent minerally note. Finish grows more bitter, but not enough to save it. Based on this and other recent Geary samples, I think maybe they’ve lost control of their yeast. This is ugly.
