If an IPA and a Pale Ale had a baby Junior would be it. Starting with a solid malt backbone of four varieties of grains, which are complimented by a heady dose of hops with an eclectic mix of citrus, tropical, and floral aromas. This all makes for an easy drinking beer that’s full of hop flavor.

If you’re picky about your pints, this is the beer for you.

Pours golden with a thin, lacing white head. Aroma of malt, some hop oils, citrus. Taste has citrus, more hop oils. Palate has much of the same. Not bad

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Andover Liquors. Appearance is hazy yellow-orange with nice sparkle, 1.5-finger width foamy white head with good retention and decent soapy lacing. Aroma is moderate tropical fruit, orange/citrus over malt base. Taste is cracker malt, restrained tropical fruit and citrus. Palate is medium bodied with foamy texture, average carbonation and dry, bittersweet finish. Overall, decent aroma and flavor for a session, with decent complexity.

Very slightly hazy golden and light copper coloured body with a large, four centimetre tall pure whtie head. Aroma of super pungent, high alpha acid hops with a nice grassy and perfumey scent. Light-bodied; Sharp grassy, piney and very grapefruity hop flavour at first with a very mild malt body, showing some light fruit sweetness and a hit of bitterness of citrus at the end. Aftertaste is nice and fresh - a lot of hop bitterness, some fresh fruit, a very dry and airy flavour with no malt backbone weighing it down. Overall, a very nice Light IPA with some grass, apricots and perfume to couple the high alpha acid hops and light malt notes - well structured, and exactly what a Light IPA should be - very nice to try, especially in a can! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Union Square, 14th Street), New York on 30-May-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 08-September-2016.

Cask @The Ginger Man, NYC as "Radiant Pig Junior Dry Hopped w/Mosaic" (but I suppose this is not new entry for RB)
ABV 5.0%. Clear amber color, small white head. Tropical fruity nose. Medium-bodied, smooth palate. Tropical fruits, tiny notes of toffee, some grapefruits. Cask conditioning works well with this one, I think.

16oz growler I picked up at Superstar Beverage Huntington. Pours a lightly hazy orange with some slim, white head. Nose has a very gristy note on the front, some cracker, some biscuit, hops too, orange, mild soap, mildly herbal. Flavor has more bitterness, soapy, orange, mild tangerine, quite a bit of biscuit too. Lightly bitter, but mostly clean finish. Easy drinker and a surprising malt backbone compared to other session IPAs.

A hazed blonde IPA with a thick frothy off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with good floral and resinous hops, pleasant and classic. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with piney resinous hops, grapefruit pulp, bitter and interesting. On tap at Coney Island on tap.

Tap at draught 55 pours clear copper with pine and floral nose. Tastes of caramel, pinesol, other cleaning detergents, perfume, and oranges. Sticky but pleasant palate. Hoppy bite at the end.

On tap @ Rosamunde, Brooklyn, NY. Clear golden color with thin creamy white head, fair lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of honey, floral and pine hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet malt and honey, following is fresh and dry grassy and citric, while finish is plesantly bitter. Full body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Crisp and fresh, easy going summer brew...

Jimmy’s No. 43, New York tap ($6): Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is pine, a teenth of citrus, little malts. Pretty aggressive hopping for a little beer. It doesn’t really feel like 4% (which is the amount that it said it was at the bar). The beer ain’t overly complex, but it is balanced generally well.
