500ml bottle. Clear, dark amber colour with average to huge, dense, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, sulphureous head. Weak, mellow malty aroma, whiffs of caramel and honey, butterscotch, toffee. Taste is minimally grainy, mellow malty and mildly bitter hoppy, hints of caramel, a touch of cereals, honey, butterscotch, toffee.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Nice colour, nice mouthfeel, but quite weak, simple and monotonous - so-so.

It's clear copper with a creamy head. Roasted malt and candy sugar, some dry citrus, iron, pumpernickel bread. Malty sweetness, but not too sweet with a dry hint. Medium bodied, oily texture, very soft and gentle carbonated, mild dry malty sweet finish. A very gentle and fine Bock, nothing wrong here!

Bottle 50 cl. pours a clear amber - not really Hell at all - with an off-white head. Malty, grainy nose with a hint of toffee. Rich, clean, malty body. Warming alcohol finish. Solid and good. 280823

Colbitzer Bock, Flasche von Karstadt, MD. - Dunkleres Kupfergoldbraun, klar. - In der Nase matte, fruchtig-marmeladige Süße über leicht muffig-karamelligem Malz. - Antrunk satt und etwas billig (blechern) karamelmalzig mit milden Melanoidinen, leichter Orangenbittere und schwacher herbaler Herbe. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang mild malzbitter, fein fruchtig und von blasser herbaler Herbe. - Von Karamelmalz und Hopfenextrakt geprägter Bock, anfangs noch rund, beim Wärmerwerden fast ungenießbar. (18.12.2020.)

500ml bottle: BB 5th May 2018. Really annoyed as I bought this on a recent trip to Germany only to discover it was past it's Best Before Date once home. Anyway, 19th Aug 2018 it was poured into two old Veltins Pilsner stemmed tulips and shared with the wife. Toffee apple red colour wise, clean and clear; weak and wispy head of off-white bubbles. Malty nose and taste, a fairly sweet overtone with caramel flavours to the fore. A few more hops would do this beer a favour!

Bottle, 7.1%. Clear dark golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is caramelly with a touch of cream. Slightly sweetish with a floral aroma hop. Bready finish, like a well-lagered bock should be.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear but faint aroma of malt and yeast, with light touches of caramel and hops. Sweetish, malty and bready flavour with estery notes and bitter touches of hops. Hints of metal and alcohol, especially in the bitter aftertaste. Nothing special but drinkable.

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours clear brown with a small off white head. Aroma of toffee, sweet malt and caramel with a touch of dark fruit behind. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Light to medium bodied with light carbonation.
