The Atlantic Ocean, dynamic and constantly moving, possesses an energy which has shaped and inspired the way we brew.

Atlantic showcases the citrus aromas and flavours of American hops without the intense bitterness sometimes associated with New World pale ales.

Draft @ Parkdean Resort, Lizard Point. I never thought I‘d end up in a place like this yet here we are. Clear gold with a short-lived white head. Mild aroma of citrus fruits. Taste of faint citrus fruits and a little bit of malt. Low bitterness. Low carbonation. Definitely one of the most tasteless and lifeless Ales I ever encountered.

Keg at the Amble Inn, wait for it, Amble. Pours clear amber with a thin off-white head. Aromas of light toffee and sulphur, sooner citrus. Nice enough cold. Got worse as it warmed up.

From cask at 4,2 % ABV at the Marquis of Granby with people from the Psychology Department at Goldsmiths 24.03.22. Clear golden. Fairly persistent white head and lacing. Some aroma and taste of ripe pale malt, citrus and papaya. There is a hint of wet gym socks, but that may as well come from the wall-to-wall carpet in the pub.

Keg at Good Intent, Puttenham. Aroma combined citrus with sweet doughy malts. Slightly sickly IMO. Fizzy clear gold body. Thick creamy white head. Medium citrus sourness. Some grainy bitterness. A hint of sweet juice. Light bodied. Thin. Flat-Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Would be nice a refreshing on a hit day I guess, thanks to being crisp, thin and watery.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Camden Town on 10th November 2020. Pours a clear coppery amber with shallow white foam and travelling lace. Pungent and tangy citrusy aroma. Caramel malt and tangy citrus fruits in-mouth with a mix of both in the finish. Zingy, crisp refreshing mouthfeel and a medium body.

500ml bottle BBE in 10 months. Pours a copper gold, slight white head. Aroma of dulled citrus hops and roasted malts. Medium to light body, moderate carbonation which doesn’t last long on the palate. Taste is like aroma, a little stale but pleasant enough. Finish is mild bitter and dry. I actually quite like the brew despite the above as its trying something; it’s like a crossover British bitter / imitation American IPA. It doesn’t quite work though, the best notes of both styles have been stymied in pursuit of a balance between the two. I am of course pretending to know what I’m talking about.
