Leute Bokbier was first brewed in 1927. It was then called Leutebock and was a lager (bottom fermentation), a completely different beer than the current one. Production was stopped after a number of years. In 1997, 70 years later, Leute Bokbier was relaunched as a completely different beer.
Fun fact: the name “bokbier” does not refer to bokbier, but literally to the ''bok'' or buck.

Bottle 0,75ltr: This one was almost forgotton beer i found in mine cellar, the bottles says best before 2004 and its was still drinkable. Dark brown ale with a red glow in it and not so bitter and very sweet almost like liqueur. Now i must drink one thats newly brewed and bottled.

Brunrød farge med beige skum. Lukter karamell, tørkede frukter og belgisk gjær. God fylde og ganske søt. Smaker mørk karamell, svisker.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 26D). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 130W 15:11 (BB: 13/04/25) AROMA: medium-high peppery alcohol, almost solventy, dark caramel, slight plums. faint metallic note that fades with time. APPEARANCE: dark amber body and translucent. medium ivory head, creamy, with good retention and belgian lace formation. TASTE: initial medium-low plums, spicy alcohol and low caramel. medium bitterness with a dry and slight toasty finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium-high carbonation. OVERALL: although the label says Bokbier which is typical associated with german beer, this is clearly a belgian brew, inclined to a Dark Strong Ale.

En tulipa, color marrón rojizo, espuma blanco hueso de buena retención. Aroma a malta tostada, caramelo, ciruela, higos. En boca muy maltosa, de entrada dulce, rica, con ligeros toques amargos y levemente ahumados, notas de pan tostado, frutos secos, achicoria, café con leche, ligero regaliz...Una cerveza interesante de conocer, digna de probar y bastante agradable
