clear orange, small white head. aroma is malty, mild hoppy note. flavor is belgian yeast, flowery notes, bordering citrussy, very strange beer.

Bottle at Yespr’s - golden aroma and taste with white head. Sweet fruity and malty aroma and taste, herbal and floral hoppy, some light citric spice, yeasty notes, overall pretty decent.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and mild citrusy. Mellow and light fruity. Toasted malty and light breadish. Bitter and light herbal finish.

I got this in the 12 bottle Summer pack. There’s a best by date of August 2014.
I poured this into a chalice.
The appearance was a decent looking bronzed amber color with a nice transparency about it. The head is about a finger’s worth of white foaminess that ends up concaving at a nice pace and leaves a decent amount of speckled white lacing. The carbonation streams upward in the center of the beer at a moderate pace.
The smell is a weak toffee/caramel maltiness with a herbal slightly earthiness about it.
The taste is sweet and earthy in the toffee and caramel notes but honestly there just doesn’t seem like there’s too much there.
On the palate, it sat very light and came across extremely sessionable. The carbonation has a decent degree of harshness. I say that part is okay for the style.
Overall, well, I guess Sam Adams did what they wanted to do. Its a Belgian session ale. However, I honestly didn’t get any Belgian spices or even yeasty notes on the nose, so honestly, I think I just kinda stand on the fence with this one.

12 ounce bottle. Pours amber with a large creamy beige head. Pleasant biscuit malt aroma with notes of yeast and citrus hops. Tangy fruity malt character with more yeasty notes. Light caramel in mid taste balanced by the citrus hops. Very drinkable and flavorful.

From an office party: Pours light orange with a small white head. Aroma is bubblegum and Belgian yeast. Taste is slightly sweet. Yeasty and overall, not too bad, albeit simple and mostly uninteresting. I like to see Sam Adams trying new things though.

Bottle. Rich yellow with spongy off-white head, lightly hoppy aroma, high carbonation, sweetish taste with a thin body, abrupt finish. Refreshing but a bit weak.

Purchased in the States, part of their 2013 Beers of Summer variety pack. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a warm cap, average retention and lacing. A little creaminess coats the top. There is a strong plastic smell. Not sure if this is normal for this one ? Other than that, aromas of Belgian Ale yeast, some fruit notes. Thankfully, the strong turpentine nose does not taste. It is more like rye with the hints of fruits in the back. Really not sure about this strong plasticy thing. I do not read it in any other reviews. Well, if this is my last review, you will know why.

Crisp copper coloured body with a lighter honey glow and a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of honey, fresh wheat, pepper, coriander seed, a touch of curacao, a little bread and some stronger yeast notes. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong lemon and a touch of curacao sweetness and fruitiness throughout with a little pepper note, some hay and grassy flavours and a touch of the yeast. Aftertaste is fairly weak and watery with a little malt and a hint of grassy and floral hops, but not much else. Overall, a decent beer and worth trying if you like seeing lighter takes on styles. I get what they were trying to do with this beer, and it generally works, but I guess I should have realised that I probably wouldn’t want a beer like this - give me a real belgie any day and I’d take that over this, even on a 100degF day. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wegman’s in Sterling, Virginia on 03-May-2013 for US$1.67 sampled at home in Washington on 23-September-2013.
