I will take a wild guess here and say that this is the first Baltic Porter I’ve enjoyed out of a can. Well it was packaged in a can, but I poured it into a glass, this time anyways. Smells of coffee and chocolate mostly with the coffee being the dominant aroma. Light earth, ash, light dark fruit and a touch of alcohol round out the nose. The flavor is sweet with caramel and burnt sugar , a hint of chocolate and a burro load of Juan Valdez. Light ethanol flavor and a touch of dark pitted fruit flavor add a hint of complexity. Medium to thick body with a creamy but coarse mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. This is a nice porter if you like a coffee bomb.

Grabbed 4 pack at whole foods. Pours deep dark brown with one finger head. Nose is earthy and of bitter dark chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, creamy cappuccino, earth, resin, and root beer. Slight alcohol after taste but well hidden for this abv. Easy drinking which could prove dangerous for me this evening unless I finally develop self control.

Light brown, 3 finger coffee colored head. smells of espresso beans, rye malts, smoke and oak. Taste is very coffee like. lots of cold brewed coffee, chocolate covered espresso beans but very little malt to back it up. very thin and light mouthfeel, roast almost burnt coffee finish.

12oz can. I sort of hate how Sixpoint beers labels fail to communicate the style of beer. Moving on...Thick unfiltered brown body, lacy off-white head. Sweet brown chocolate, caramel, coffee aroma. Sort of like a massive brown ale as much as a Baltic Porter, lots of sweet sugary specialty malts, but displays a nice balance too, with some mild spicy balancing hops somewhere in there. Sweet, syrupy finish. The sweetness is overwhelming after a point, A great dessert beer.

Can. Pours a dark brown with a pretty decent tan head. Aromas are of light cocoa and coffee with dark fruit. I should say that the aromas are really washed out. Don’t know if it is me or the beer, but I’m pulling at straws on a decent description of something so faint. Flavor, on the other hand, is not subtle. A nice blast of chocolate and coffee with a thick texture and a little creaminess on the tail end make this a winner on the first sip. Tastes like a nice mocha or cappuccino. Yum!

Dark with a creamy, dark head. Aroma is like a fresh cup of coffee. Roasted malts, chocolate, light earth tones, too. Medium to full body. Flavor is coffee, roasted malts, cocoa, some dark fruits, tobacco. Very good if you like the coffee beers.
