Thanks for purchasing another offering in our series of "Big Mo" Beers. For as long as people have inhabited Colorado’s Front Range, the Twin Sisters have had a strong impact on Colorado residents. The views from atop the 11,428’ peaks are breathtaking and afford sweeping views of the entirety of Rocky Mountain National Park. As an expression of admiration we have crafted an ale that exhibits a profound impact all its own. At 11428 IBU’s (just kidding), Twin Sisters is a mountainous testament to hops, and that they bring. A feeling of ease and relaxation become apparent for all whom would dare to climb it. When I first looked at the label I thought this was a homage beer to that bloody awful poodle rock band from the 80s. Anyway, bottle from Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Copper coloured pour with a white head.Honey, marmalade and sweet citrus aroma and taste. Boozy mouthfeel. Bitter fruit finish. Tasty.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt amber color with a one finger foamy head that dissipates pretty quickly. A tight filmy coat of lacing clings to the glass nicely and eventually slides into the beer.
The smell started off with some dried sweet and bitter pine. Light citrusy tones slide in underneath. Light caramel malt rides in even slighter than the citrusy tones.
The taste was mainly bitter dry arranging the sweet citrusy fruits in with the caramel malts. There’s a slight dry citrusy aftertaste running into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation feels fairly low allowing the dryness to really hit my tongue.
Overall, its an okay DIPA, probably not one to seek out again, but definitely do-able.

Pours a clear, dark, golden-amber, with good-sized head that dissipates rapidly. Aroma is quite muted: some floral notes, some hops, some sugar/candy smells. Flavor is rather sweet, with a lot of hop bitterness, some grassiness, some citrus, even a touch of anise. Almost verging closer to a barley wine, actually.

Bottle split at GBBF ’15, day 3, 13/08/15. Clear golden orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is caramel malt, bitter orange, toasted malt, citric pith, light spice. Taste comprises earthy hops, caramel malt, bitter orange, straw, bready notes. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a touch of boose. Ok but ultimately fails to deliver the flavour that the ABV warrants.

Bomber. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, old gold. Film of sticky, bubbly, white head. Really nice, albeit subdued, fresh, pineapple core hop. Sticky, slightly vinous malts. Tinned strawberry and the like. Bit of spice in there. It’s not in your face, but I can’t stop smelling it. Taste is also sweet. Quickly turns juicy, pithy bitter. Tad of chew on the palate. Nice bit of tooth rot. Finishes oozy, resinous bitter, just in time to cancel out some of that sweetness. Really drinkable, and by my reckoning this a little over seven weeks since bottling, which is pretty decently fresh. Could do another...

Flaska från SB. Mörkt gyllengul med drag av röd ton. Maltig, lätt sädig arom som nästan fullständigt övermannas av grape, citrus, honung och ananas. Bra beska som domineras av tropiska frukter. Stor maltkropp som rundas av med en lätt släng fänkål.

Bottle from gbbf 2015 and drunk at home. Clear amber colour. It’s a competent dipa for sure. Sweet but not cloying hoppy but not overly pungent. Flowery yet bitter . Some harsh bitter carbonic acid finish solid competent very drinkable but lacks a touch of soul and individuality. Good though.
