A highly memorable brewday back in 2013 with luminary Dutch brewers Rooie Dop & Oersoep followed by a 10 month maturation in red wine barrels with our Brett yeast. A super complex, vinous , mildly tart stout ale.

Bouteille 33cl.

Pitch black, red hue, beige head. Bit of a slow gusher; at least, the beer tried to eject the mouth of the nozzle in a slow, orderly but steady fashion. Aroma of red wine, chocolate, wood. Light sweet, light bitter flavour, light sour hint, coffee, red wine. Finish red wine, bitter cacao, wood. Loads of red wine. Rather nice, actually.

Bottle at home. Black with big fluffy beige head. Lots of sour red berries, black currant, hay, dry leaves, pineapple, balsamico, red wine, coffee, roasted grains, funk. Medium sour and light roasted bitter finish with just a hint of sweetness. Medium bodied, slick syrupy feel and lots of carbonation. Bit over carbonated but otherwise very nice stuff.

Bottle thanks to Matteo. It pours deep brown with a thick beige head. The nose is funky, earthy, big tangy red grape character, tart berry, berry yoghurt and earthy roast. The taste is tart, dirty roast, earth, filthy funk, mild acidity, berry, juicy plum, red grape and vinous quality throughout. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting beer for sure. Rather enjoyable.
