330 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 7%. Hazy reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Strong aroma of oak, farmhouse and red wine vinegar. Medium sour flavour, notes of brettanomyces and oak, hints of red wine vinegar, also fruity notes. Very moderate hops.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - a shiny black olive with a lovely frothy head. Nose - tart raspberries and cherries. Soft oak and some funkiness. A lovely popcorn note comes through eventually. Taste - raspberry marshmallows with a coconut finish from the oak barrel. Like those Mikado biscuits you used to get. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tart and oaky finish. Overall -

330ml bottle at home. Pours hazy red-brown, thin beige head. Sour nose, raspberry vinegar, woody light vanilla. Taste has cherry, roasted note. Quite a light body, long sour finish. Just a side note, if you’re going to design a beer for ageing, it might be an idea to put a vintage on it. I can’t tell how old this bottle is, it might have been in the shop year, might have arrived yesterday!

0,33L bottle. Pours red-brown with off white head. The head doesn’t stay. Taste is sweet, berries, oak, wood and slight bitterness. Finish is slightly dry and with some alcohol showing. Overall: nice brew.

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Koseøl i heimen. Dyp mørkebrun. Pent luftig skum som varer. Teppelacing. God syrlig fruktaroma. Stikkelsbær. Lite kullsyre. Smaken syrlig tørket frukt. En skikkelig “Wild Thing”.

Bottle, 7%. Dark brown/red with medium tan head. Aroma ismalt, wine, yeast, dark fruits and vnegar. Flavour is malt, oak, dark fruits, litle over carbonated, yeast, little vinegar, wood, medium dry, medium sweet, little sour and a little bitter.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Fair off-white head, dissipating. Near clear, orange-red body colour. Tart and sweet berries on the nose. Caramel malts together with tart berries added by a touch of oak. Smooth drying tartness to the finish. Vinous. Drinkable, rather unvaried though (at home, Tromsø 18.04.2014).

Bottle, bmo013. Pours hazy and very dark maroon with a small head. Aroma is fruity with lots of berries and cherries and vanilla, as well as leather, oak barrels and whiffs of bourbon. Average body with almost no carbonation. Flavour is burned malts with ripe fruits, sugar and fruity yeast, with berries, tobacco and oak barrels. Finishes off with a dry wooden burned bitterness. A pleasant surprise.

Snifter on draft at Whole Foods. Muddy brown color, thick looking, messy looking. Cannot see through it. Thick head forms atop of the snifter. Fades slowly to a surface covering lacing. It has that acetic lacong, small thin layer of bubbles that slowly pop one by one. Aroma hits you with strong malts and acetic sour. Its one of those, not to bad but not refined. Mostly acetic sourness but not nail polish. The malts are obviously meant for another style. A slightly awkward mash up but one that is often found nowadays. Same in flavor with the acetic starting to taking over and strip out some of the other flavors. Thinking I would not want this aged. This is my doable level for the type of beer. Anymore messy and I would not like it.
