Northern Line is a collaboration brew between Camerons and Portobello Brewery. Traditional northern brewing methods have been combined with the new and exciting flavour profiles from the London brewer. This cask milk stout is infused with rich dark Belgian chocolate giving it a lovely roast chocolate aroma. Following an initial sweet taste it then develops a full bitter flavour from the addition of the dark chocolate. A great example of old and new brewing methods delivering a truly decadent pint! Hops: Admiral, Fuggles. Malt: Chocolate, Crystal.

Cask at the Edgar Wallace - London. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with more toasty caramel, smooth chocolate, low bitterness, dark bread, some dark berries. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Finishes with burnt dark sugars, chocolate, toffee. Solid.

Cask at the Plough & Harrow (JDW), Hammersmith Pitch black with a loose beige head; oaty aroma; a soft sweet oaty body with a slight sourness; followed by a slowly building bitterness. A very satisfying stout.

Oldham Beer Festival 2015. Black with a small head. It’s a steady stout with a gritty roasted malt aroma and taste - but still very palatable.

Cask at the Kings Head, Carlisle. Very dark brown with a creamy brown head. Grain, liquorice and berries on the nose, making for an enticing little aroma. Bitter fruity taste with a bitter finish and hoppy aftertaste. Body is very thin for a stout, and while clean, creamy and refreshing I was hoping for a fuller palette. But this is very good all in all.
