Draft at Gasterij De Poort in Gulpen. Didn't take any notes. What I do remember: Caramel, malt, hoppy notes. Average dark Bock, a little more bitterness.

Bottle at home. Aroma is rich malt, caramel, touch of raisins, hint of liquorice. Flavour is sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Not a bad Bock.

Bottle 0,3ltr: Clear brown colored brew with an red glow, not as sweet as the regular commercial Dutch Bockbeers. Hints of caramel are there plenty.
Earlier Rating: 11/29/2008 Total Score: 3
Bottle 0.,3ltr: Dark red Bock from Limburg, made from ingredients from the region. Roasty taste and some hints of some other spices.

From tap @ Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam. Head is medium, tan, good retention. Colour is dark brown, clear. Aroma is light roasted malts, mellow fruits, caramel, dark bread crust. Taste is medium malty base, mellow fruits, caramel, chocolate touch, herbal, dry on the palate, simple bitterness, good for the style, enjoyed.

Old but still independent Dutch Gulpener’s contribution to the equally old Dutch bokbier tradition, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Medium thick, moussy, pale yellowish-beige, stable head, clear translucently mahogany brown robe with ruddy hue. Aroma of hard caramel, unsalted peanuts, burnt brown sugar, dry autumn leaves, nutmeg, lightly toasted bread crust, hint of iron faraway in the background. Clean, sweetish onset, very vague sourish edge, lively carb; slick and smooth caramelly maltiness with peanutty edge and very lightly toasty-bitterish tail, the bitterness gently accentuated by a whiff of leafy hops. Some dark ‘malt fruitiness’ and caramelly sweetness remain in the finish. Basic and unspectacular compared with many other Dutch bokbier variations of recent years – in fact fully ‘classic’ and adding nothing to the tradition, but in itself certainly decent and tasty.

Bottle picked up from the brewery and consumed at home Friday 29th October 2021, about to cook Lasagna accompanied with a Greek Salad, listening to End of The Road 2021 compilation. Pours chestnut brown with a slim off white head. Loz gets barley sugar, I get, nutty caramel, nice carbonation, certainly autumnal, malty but there is a little fruity bite. Good.
