Can @ Timbers, Denver. Pours golden with a nice sized white head. Aroma of malt, sugar, corn, light citrus. Taste is malt, sugar, corn. Medium body, soft carbonation. Actually not that bad. 200212

Originally rated October 2005. There is a blue bull on my can, but it does not say Schlitz Blue Bull, just Schlitz Strong Beer. The ABV is also a slight different, being 6%. Pours a pale golden colour with a white foamy head that dissipates quickly enough. The lacing left is pretty damn good though. Lightly carbonated and mild corn nose and bread. The taste is very smooth and light. No detection of alcohol at all. Mildly on the bitter side, not the sweet side like most malt liquor. Pretty damn good, to get the job done... when you want something smooth.

I’m a mind to always try different malt liquors, gotta try them all, maybe there’s one out there that isn’t a total retch-fest... so, I get this flown up to the arctic on my tri-annual LCBO cargo-liquor shipment (oh god, those air freight bills...) and open its cappy goodness up and pour it into a glass once slightly warmed; well, it has a decent solid foamy head at least. The body is a bright yellow with heavy carbonation. The aroma is sugar and apple cider. The flavour is some caramel harshness followed by sweetness and a cloying finish. This could be a lot worse, but of course, that doesn’t mean it’s good.

Can: Smells a bit like horse shit, hay, and paprika. Clear golden, no head. Tastes like boiled vegetables. Corny aftertaste which, sadly enough, is actually the highlight. I really feel like beers like this are exploiting poor people who only want to enjoy beer like the rest of us.

A golden lager with a thin dissipating white head. Aroma of skunk and sweet cream corn. In mouth, an oxidized mish mash with almost no taste, a bit sweet metalic finish, hurts my stomach. However, gotta give points for Dumdum chugging the rest of this awful stuff in one gulp. Old Stock VI evening, March 23 2007.

Light, rather insipid gold colour with nice sparkle and whispy head. Grainy aroma with some acetaldehyde, creamed corn and other sulphuric stuff lie struck match. Very sulphuric on the palate, at least up front. The finish is ultra sweet, creamy, sugary, like if Haagen Dazs made a Creamed Corn and Sulphur flavour.
