Taste is similar, boozy fruit, maybe plums, caramel sweetness, but initially there is a big booze kick which is a bit off-putting. After this fades the taste is alright, but maybe still a bit booze dominated, almost sherry-like. Basically, a bit of a cliche of a Belgian beer. Aroma of malt and chocolate. Slight tartness. Roasted malt in the taste, together with chocolate, fruit (raisins) hops and a slight porto burn. Bitter finish. Very well brewed beer, fairly complex, but surprisingly easy to drink. Re-rate: Some peach fruit and malt in the aroma. Sweetish flavor with some roasted malt and peach fruit in the flavor. Bitter aftertaste. Has lost complexity. 8,5% on the label.

Bottle from Beer Ritz. It pours murky muddy brown with a white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, over ripe banana, toffee, banana split, fruit cake, earthy, wood and warming spice. The taste is dry, bitter-sweet, bitter orange, spicy, campari, caramelised banana, clove, toffee sauce, wood, some alcohol, tannin, sultana and raisin with a warming finish. Medium+ body a and fine, foamy carbonation. Interesting stuff. Not sure it quite comes together, but fun anyhow.

For a belgian dubbel this would be a bit better, It’s just a bit thin on the body for the style. But overall tasty and nice beer to drink. Hop cult dresden

HOTT. What's not hot is that it doesn't mention it's a Hoegaarden beer.

330ml bottle. Pours deep brown with a massive fluffy head. Biscuit, caramel, hazelnut, bit of a fruity schnapps kick, cherry, pear, banana, nice toffee note. Lovely soft body. Quite impressive.

Fles gekregen in een bierpakket, thuis geprobeerd. Het is een licht amberkleurig bier met een stevig schuim. Het aroma is caramelachtig en wat houtig. De smaak is fruitig met een beetje hop in de afdronk.
