FrankenBROWN was our maiden beer that we used to christen our long lusted for brewery. A high percentage of specialty grain brings the soul of malt, biscuit and coffee notes. The bitterness and aroma comes from a hit of hops added throughout the boil as well as dry hopping. 5.3% ABV makes for a beer that is right on.

Malts: Pale, Biscuit, Medium Crystal and Chocolate Malt
Hops: Mosaic Dry Hop: Simcoe

375ml can. Opaque, dark brown colour with weak rubyshimmer and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Nutty, toasty malty and grassy, minimally citrusy, hoppy aroma, hints of nuts, coffee, cookies, a touch of orange, orange peel. Taste is toasty, nutty and biscuity malty, slightly bitter, minimally citrusy fruity hoppy, hints of coffee, cookies, some orange, orange peel. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Balanced, homogeneous - pretty decent.

Bottle. Dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of filter coffee, singed biscuits. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Sweet biscuit and coffee with lots of burnt notes that at first overwhelm both malt and hops. But after a while some the sweetness asserts itself and the bitterness if not the aromatics of the hops emerges.Couldn’t get past the burnt flavours.
