Viven Bruin is an improvement of the original recipe. The fine balance between malt and spices creates a surprising aftertaste. Brown ale with an aroma of chocolate and caramel.
This beer is the perfect meal companion. Properinge hops.

Chestnut brown...hazy...thin off white head
Aroma - caramel malt...fruity malt....dark fruits...typical belgian yeast
Taste - caramel and fruity malts....dark fruits....yeasts...some light spicy hops
Palate - medium carb....thin to medium body. Finish as main flavour
Overall - A reasonable dubbel but was outshone by far better beers that evening...worth a re-rate on its own

Cloudy red brown beer, beige aery head, unstable and a bit adhesive, falls down fast. Aroma: fruity, caramel, dried figs, touch of banana. MF: a bit too much carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet caramel, raisins, mocha, citrus and some hops. Aftertaste: dark chocolate, grapefruits, citrus. Another pretty good beer from Viven. (yeah, Proef, I know)

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, ruby brown colour with a big and loose tanned foamy head. Sweet and yeasty roast-malty aroma with notes of berries, caramel, leather and liquorice. Sweet and roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Roast-malty taste with fruity notes, caramel and cacao; sweet, roasty and hop-bitter, slightly spicy and subtle fruity finish with loads of chocolate in the aftertaste. Pleasant. 06.XII.10
