Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Clear, very dark red. Film, and dense halo of sticky, light brown head. Milk chocolate. Light roast coffee bean. Chocolate chip cookie. Some brûléed grapefruit hop. Tastes light bitter. Light dry. Lick of salt. Hint of savoury. Smooth, and beautifully easy drinking. Light tartness joins in on the finish. Bob on.

Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Unusual candy fruit nose. Palate is airy and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. The dark malts have mild roast and mild dark chocolate. Mellow spice. Tangy dark fruits overlaid with that candy sweets thing from the nose. Light semi dry finish. Tasty and a little unusual.

Keg at CASC. It pours near black with a decent beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, roasty, toasty caramel, chocolate and liquorice. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, roasty, dark fruits, plum, liquorice, cocoa, earth and candied peel with a easy-going finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. A lot easier going that expected. A session Impy stout? Not so complex, but tasty.

Bottle at Ravintola Kirjakauppa, Pori. Opaque black color, creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted, licorice and perharps even a bit milky. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Roasted, licorice, light cocoa, hoppyness. Long lingering roastyness in the aftertaste. Some alcohol. Ok impy.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - 2014 Vintage, at Kitty’s, 20150103) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, lightly brown and it lasted long. Aroma had liquorice, burnt malts, vineousness and dark chocolate. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had liquorice, ash and bitterness. Too burnt and vineous imperial stout.

Bottle. Black with a thick tan head. Fudgy aroma with moderate roast, mocha, spicy hops, some alcohol. Silky texture, moderate carbonation. Rich and sweet with coffee, chocolate, dried figs. Dryish rather bitter finish with lingering coffee and a little ash. Alcohol peeks out a bit. Good - maybe just a little heavy handed with the hops for me.
