A. Le Coq Porter has a strong taste and a rich aroma. It is a typical Baltic porter with the dominant flavour of roasted malt, but hints of black bread and caramel can also be felt. They are complemented by the nuance of dried fruit and dark chocolate in the end.

Bottle at Porterfestivalen cons 2017-11-18 Göteborg New rating 3,5 old 2,8 Bottle 50 cl from Alko in Mariehamn, Finland, cons. 2010-08-24, Göteborg AR: brown sugar, some roasted malt (kind of a bit Danish) AP: burned suger coloured body, 2 cm high lively diminshing head - of white in colour F: dry, white sugar, full body, great bitterness, a bit smokey, a bit boring and it’s unfortunatly not a Porter as I would like a Porter to be. More as a Stout (and the bottle that I bought was in Finnish and I’m not skilled (not at all) in that language) - on the other hand the alcoholic is hidden so you can drink the entire bottle without any problem.

Bottle. The color is black, but not pitch black. The foam is quite large and fluffy, a bit dirty. Fairly faint aroma with chocolate, nuts and roasted malt. A little bit weak flavor, some caramel, chocolate and roasted malt. Unfortunately, the end feels pretty thin and watery, not much aftertaste.

(Bottle, thanks to SaintMatty) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark bread, brown sugar and dried figs. Malty, roasted taste with dark bread, caramel, dried fruit and hints of coffee in a slightly bittersweet finish. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Fairly sweet but well balanced with alcohol well hidden. Feels more like a vienna or a dark lager than a baltic porter, but still a nice an very drinkable beer.

A dark-brown beer with a medium and smooth beige head. The nose is nice and balanced, mild roastiness, slightly sour and maybe hint of alcohol. Taste is balanced and malty, medium sweetness, balanced roastiness, some bread. Medium bodied, almost oily to drink. A.Le Coq Porter is quite sweet and thus loyal for baltic porter style. Easy and dark bready beer.
